Self Publishing

  • When we undertake your eBook conversion activity, you get an XML format to archive for future as an additional format free.
  • You can easily modify and revise your eBook edition as you are in full control of this format.
  • This XML format can also be used to produce Print-PDF files for printing and can be imported in to major desktop publishing programs.

We use DocBook XML version 5.0 for the standard archiving purpose. DocBook is a Semantics markup language for documentation. It was originally intended for writing technical documents related to computer hardware and software but it can be used for any other sort of documentation. As a semantic language, DocBook documents do not describe what their contents “look like,” but rather the meaning of those contents.

DocBook XML files can be created and edited with any text editor. A dedicated XML editor is likewise a functional DocBook editor. DocBook provides schema files for popular XML schema languages, so any XML editor that can provide content completion based on a schema can do so for DocBook. Many graphical or WYSIWYG XML editors come with the ability to edit DocBook like a word processor. The documents stored in a standard version of DocBook XML is considered a future-proof format for archiving, since this document can be edited anytime in future using any XML Editor. Publishers need not look for the specific versions of the software in which their document has been prepared for creating the print PDF.

DocBook XML content is easily be imported in popular word processing programs, such as Adobe InDesign. Please see the popular links on this topic.
